Executive Leadership
Melvin Kindall Myles
Founder & Executive Director, Selym Inc
Founder & Director, Creative Arts Empowerment Network (CAEN)
Melvin Kindall Myles is a Vocal Laureate, cultural strategist, and nonprofit leader whose work spans performance, institution-building, and civic life. He founded Selym Inc and the Creative Arts Empowerment Network to create the infrastructure that artists and cultural leaders need to do their most important work.
As a performing artist, Melvin has sung at Carnegie Hall, Washington National Cathedral, and Central Synagogue — venues that represent the highest levels of artistic and civic trust. His work as a vocalist is inseparable from his work as an advocate: he has spent two decades building programs, platforms, and partnerships at the intersection of arts, healing, and civic engagement.
Through CAEN, Melvin brings that experience directly to the artists and project leaders he sponsors and supports — offering not just organizational infrastructure, but the kind of strategic guidance that comes from someone who has built real things in the real world of arts and culture.
